Samsung’s next-gen foldable might have just lost its biggest surprise ahead of Galaxy Unpacked. Newly leaked marketing images and specifications seem to show the Galaxy Z Fold 8 in its entirety. The phone appears to feature a redesigned form factor that addresses one of the most common complaints about Samsung’s book-style foldables: the small cover display.
The latest leak, posted by respected leaker Evan Blass days ahead of Samsung’s July 22 Galaxy Unpacked event, suggests that the company is preparing for its biggest Galaxy Fold redesign in years. Leaked materials suggest that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will have a shorter and significantly wider form factor but will stick to Samsung’s premium foldable design language.
Rather than tweaking last year’s formula, Samsung appears to be re-imagining how users interact with the phone when it is folded. Many users found the tall, narrow cover screens on previous Galaxy Fold models too cramped for typing, messaging, and everyday use. That new exterior display on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is far more like a regular smartphone, making it much more functional for one-handed use and everyday tasks.
Leaked specs also reveal that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy processor, meaning Samsung will once again go with a customized flagship chip for its premium devices. The leaked marketing material also hints at dual 50-megapixel rear cameras, with one being a primary sensor and the other being an ultrawide lens along with 10-megapixel selfie cameras on both the outer and inner displays. Samsung says the phone can provide up to 26 hours of video playback on a single charge, but that will depend on real-world usage in the end.
Samsung is also anticipated to keep expanding its Galaxy AI experience across the foldable lineup, beyond the hardware. A few leaked promotional images showcase AI-enhanced productivity features, which demonstrate how the company is trying to market its foldables as multitasking devices and not just larger smartphones. Samsung has not officially detailed the software improvements, but Galaxy AI is expected to continue to be a major focus at the upcoming launch event.

The latest leak also further hints that Samsung may be expanding its foldable portfolio this year. Marketing materials for the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 also mention a Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, which will reportedly keep the taller design of previous Fold models but sport higher-end camera hardware, including a 200-megapixel primary sensor. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is also expected to be announced at the same event. Samsung has not officially confirmed any of these details yet.
Samsung has already confirmed a Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for July 22 in London, where the company is expected to reveal its next generation of foldables, smartwatches, and other Galaxy ecosystem products. There have been multiple leaks in recent weeks, and most of the hardware seems to be out in the open, but pricing, regional availability, software improvements, and several flagship features are still under wraps until Samsung takes the stage.
