Google is planned to announce the Pixel 11 on August 12 at its Made by Google event in New York, and pre-orders are expected to begin the same day. Google has confirmed the name and date, but most of the details are remaining from leaks.
The Pixel 11 lineup is expected to include four models: Pixel 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. The event will also feature Trevor Noah as host, along with several celebrity guests, as Google continues to position its launches as entertainment-style showcases.
The new phones are built around the Tensor G6 chip. It will apparently use Arm’s latest CPU cores and a PowerVR GPU, along with a new Titan M3 security chip. Expect performance improvements, particularly with AI and general use. Graphics gains may be more modest. Additionally, it also features a MediaTek M90 modem, which can improve battery efficiency and connectivity.
A new visual feature called “Pixel Glow” is also rumored, adding a light element around the camera module for notifications and alerts. However, the overall design is expected to stay similar to previous Pixel models, including the signature camera bar.
Display sizes are expected to stay the same, with 6.3-inch panels on the 11 and Pro and a 6.8-inch display on the Pro XL. The base model may gain a 50MP main camera but lose the telephoto lens, while Pro versions retain more advanced camera systems, including AI-powered zoom of up to 120x.

Put simply, if the latest AI and software features (Gemini, Google’s own services, and more) are what matter most, Pixel devices should be at the top of the list. Samsung tends to win on that front in terms of hardware, especially on the highest-end specs available. We will, of course, learn more when the Pixel 11 launches next week. Battery sizes look similar to last year, so any efficiency gains from Tensor G6 will be important, and Qi2 wireless charging and new color options are also expected.
The Pixel 11 doesn’t really feel like a redesign in general; it’s more of a refinement around AI, efficiency, and camera software. The question is whether these upgrades are enough to justify higher prices and different hardware tradeoffs.
