Samsung is gearing up for another major Galaxy launch this month, with the company confirming its next Galaxy S26 event will take place on August 27. The announcement follows just months after the debut of the Galaxy S26 series, adding a further layer of intrigue to Samsung’s 2026 smartphone line-up.
Samsung said the August 27 event will introduce the “newest addition” to the Galaxy S26 family. The company hasn’t shared the name of the device, but its invite makes it obvious that the new phone will feature core Galaxy S26 experiences like camera and artificial intelligence as well as the latest version of One UI.
The timing makes sense, too. Samsung’s Fan Edition phones are stripped-down versions of its flagship devices, sitting above the company’s actual mid-range lineup and offering a mix of premium features at lower prices. Samsung launched the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra earlier this year. There is still space for a more accessible model to complete the family. The current lineup featured substantial camera, performance, and AI improvements, setting a strong foundation for the next device to build on.

Samsung’s wording implies AI will again be at the heart of the new phone at the Galaxy S26 event. The company emphasizes camera and AI experiences and specifically mentions the newest One UI. Some new leaks suggest that the Galaxy S26 FE might come with One UI 9 based on Android 17, but Samsung has not revealed its specifications yet.
Samsung will stream the Galaxy S26 event online on August 27 at 9:00 p.m. KST (5 a.m. PT / 8 a.m. ET) on its official website and YouTube channel. The livestream will start at 5.30 pm India time on Samsung’s website and Samsung India’s YouTube channel.
Samsung is holding back on the biggest detail for now. However, the Galaxy S26 Event on August 27 could deliver one of Samsung’s most intriguing smartphone announcements of the year, as the company teases a new member of the Galaxy S26 family.
